Matthew Ray Goff was born and raised in Pike County, KY until he was 18 years old. After spending much of his childhood as overweight, he decided it was time for a change in his life. As a person who likes to do his research before he dives into something, Matthew started reading fitness books and magazines to improve his approach at losing weight. Weighing in at 225lbs his junior year of high school and standing at only 5’7, Matthew was on his way to being an obese statistic, but instead he walked up to the stage to receive his diploma his senior year weighing in at 140lbs. Suddenly Matthew was passionate about something; a fire had been ignited in him like nothing before. Matthew spent a year getting some of the basic classes out of the way at Big Sandy Community and Technical College in Pikeville, KY. After contemplating what he wanted to do with his life he decided to pursue degrees in something he felt passionate about, so what is better than Nutrition and Exercise Science. He also knew that he wanted to attend the University of Tennessee, so first he attended Pellissippi State Technical and Community College to finish many of the basic classes that both degrees required and graduated in Spring 2008 with an Associates of Science degree Magna Cum Laude. He enrolled in the University of Tennessee in Fall 2008 where he still attending classes with the aspirations of one day helping people improve the nutritional and physical aspects of their lives.
