Objective

To obtain acceptance into a graduate program that will broaden my experience in the field of nutrition by providing coursework and rotations allowing the development of skills and expertise in the areas of medical nutrition therapy, sports nutrition, food service management, and community nutrition.

Relevant Experience
  •   Having taken numerous courses in the fields of exercise science and nutrition, I have received no less than a B in all courses, thus maintaining a 3.95 GPA.
  • Currently working at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in the dietary department as a Nutrition Associate in their Essence Patient Dining service which involves assembling, modifying, and delivering meals to the women services floor.
  • While working at First Baptist Church of Knoxville as part of the facility staff, I volunteered weekly with the FISH program which helped provide non-perishable food items to the homeless of Knox County.
  •  I am currently a member of the American Dietetic Association, Knoxville Dietetic Association, Tennessee Dietetic Association, and Undergraduate Nutrition Students of America. 
  •  I was previously certified for personal training by the American Fitness Professionals of America “AFPA,” and the requirements for this certification was to perform a certain amount of exercises correctly, take a 300 questionnaire, and answer three open response questions.
  •  Working with special population groups is of interest to me since during my high school career, I spent two hours a day working with special education children with disabilities spanning from physical impairments to intellectual incapability’s.

Future Goals

My short term goal is to attend graduate school to obtain a Masters degree while working for an organization that will allow me to put my skill set to use and help me further my education in exercise and nutrition. My long term goal is to obtain a PhD in nutrition and work for an organization/institution that will capitalize on my skills allowing me to work and educate others on the nutritional/physical aspects of their lives.
